The CD-108-175 is a rugged, all-weather coaxial dipole antenna designed for high-reliability communication across the VHF Aviation Band (108–175 MHz). Enclosed in a high-strength radome, it provides a stable, omnidirectional link for vertically polarized waves, making it an essential asset for fixed ATC sites, shipboard installations, and mobile command centers.

Stable Wideband Performance

The CD-108-175 delivers a consistent 2.15 dBi gain across a broad 67 MHz bandwidth without requiring any field tuning. Its technical core utilizes a specialized "Choke and Spark Gap" technique, which ensures high efficiency and pattern stability over the entire frequency range. With a 78-degree vertical beam-width, the antenna provides excellent hemispherical coverage, maintaining strong signal contact with aircraft at high altitudes while effectively reaching ground-based units.

Professional Grade Construction

Built to survive in high-salinity maritime and extreme terrestrial environments, the radiating elements are constructed from 6063T6 architectural-grade aluminum alloy. These elements are entirely sealed within a UV-resistant ABS radome, which offers superior transparency for RF signals while acting as a physical shield against ice formation and corrosive gases. The aerodynamic cylindrical profile is specifically designed for low wind loading, allowing the antenna to remain operationally secure in wind speeds up to 200 Km/Hr.

Operational and Logistical Efficiency

The CD-108-175 is a "fit and forget" solution characterized by its high suppression of skin current, which results in a smooth and reliable VSWR. For long-term logistical maintenance, the N-Female termination is fixed at the very bottom of the mounting pipe. This configuration keeps the critical RF junction protected from rain, humidity, and physical stress. The antenna is supplied with Type 316 marine-grade stainless steel mounting hardware, ensuring zero oxidation even in direct salt-spray environments.

Detailed Technical Features

  • Universal VHF Coverage: Covers the full 108–175 MHz band, supporting aeronautical, emergency, and land-mobile VHF.
  • Skin Current Suppression: Advanced design minimizes noise and ensures constant gain across the band.
  • Coaxial Dipole Architecture: Provides a perfectly balanced 360-degree horizontal radiation pattern.
  • High Power Handling: Rated for continuous operation at 500 Watts.
  • Spark Gap Protection: Integrated protection against atmospheric static and electrical transients.

Detailed Mechanical Features

  • Radome Armor: High-strength ABS tube enclosure (UV resistant).
  • Marine-Grade Build: All mounting brackets and fasteners are Type 316 stainless steel.
  • Support Structure: 6063T6 Aluminum Alloy for internal radiating elements.
  • Weight Profile: 6 Kgs (Net); optimized for mounting on tactical masts or shipboard rails.
  • Aperture: 1.5 meters overall length; 1.6 meters shipping length.
  • Mounting Interface: Clamps to vertical support pipes up to 52 mm (2 inches).

Detailed Environmental Features

  • Hurricane Survival: Wind rating of 200 Km/Hr (125 MPH).
  • Thermal Hardening: Operational from -30°C to +70°C.
  • Humidity Resilience: Certified for 0 to 95% RH.
  • Corrosion Resistance: Designed specifically for coastal/maritime theaters where salt fog is prevalent.

Key Advantages

  • Multi-Platform Versatility: Equally effective for fixed stations, naval vessels, and mobile command trailers.
  • Pattern Integrity: Vertical beam-width (78°) minimizes "dead zones" for inbound aircraft.
  • Zero Field Maintenance: Factory-tuned design eliminates the need for expensive test equipment during installation.

Primary Applications

  • Air Traffic Control (ATC): Primary ground-to-air link for civilian and military airfields.
  • Naval Communications: Ship-to-shore and ship-to-air VHF coordination.
  • Mobile Command Centers: Rapidly deployable wideband VHF link for emergency response.
  • VHF Radio Relay: Establishing high-power relay points in coastal or mountainous terrain.

Design Features: CD-108-175 aviation dipole antenna is an omni-directional antenna for vertically polarized waves. CD-108-175 Omni-directional aviation dipole antenna is rugged all weather model, enclosed in a ABS radome, uses6063T6 ultra corrosion resistant aluminum alloy and does not require any field tuning or adjustments. The compact size of omni-directional aviation dipole antenna allows easy handling, shipping and highly suitable for ATC sites without having the requirement of multiple antennas. The aviation dipole antenna features high suppression of skin current which provides the smooth VSWR over the 108-175MHz frequency band. Cylindrical enclosure is used for low wind loading and for minimal effect of ice formation on the antenna operation as well as providing an aesthetically pleasing appearance. Due to sturdy design the aviation dipole antenna is highly suitable for fixed station application, shipboard mounting and mobile application.

Constructions: The aviation dipole antenna is consisting of round diameter radiating elements stacked vertically and enclosed in ABS radome. The special “Choke and Spark Gap” technique is used for constant superior performance over the entire 108-175 MHz. frequency band. The UV resistant ABS enclosure has excellent transparency for RF signals and enough strength to withstand specified wind loads. The N-Female termination of antenna is fixed at the bottom of the mounting pipe for complete weather protection. The marine grade type 316 stainless steel mounting brackets are supplied with the air band dipole antenna.
