The AH-475 is a professional-grade High-Gain Broadband Helical Antenna precision-engineered for the 400–550 MHz UHF spectrum. Delivering a robust 11 dBic gain and a massive 500-Watt power handling capacity, this directional aperture is a premier solution for Flight Termination Systems (FTS), SATCOM ground stations, and tactical data links. By utilizing advanced helical winding and circular polarization (RHCP/LHCP), the AH-475 provides superior signal penetration and link stability, outperforming traditional linear Yagi antennas in complex, high-multipath environments.

Battlefield Durability: Built to survive the most punishing environmental extremes

The AH-475 is encased in a high-strength fiberglass radome that shields the precision copper radiating elements from physical impact, ice loading, and corrosive atmospheres. Featuring a heavy-duty 6061T6 aluminum alloy reflector and marine-grade stainless steel hardware, this antenna is designed to exceed MIL-STD-810G protocols. It maintains structural integrity in winds up to 200 Km/Hr and extreme thermal cycles from -30°C to +70°C.

Operational Efficiency: Maximum power projection and signal integrity

Efficiency is maximized by utilizing high-purity copper radiating elements and a broadband design that ensures consistent performance across the entire 150 MHz bandwidth. Its optimized 45-degree beamwidth and stable 16 dB Front-to-Back ratio ensure that the 500W of RF power is concentrated exactly where it is needed, maximizing link distance for satellite tracking and mission-critical command links while preventing interference with friendly systems located behind the aperture.

Technical Features

  • Ultra-Wideband UHF Performance: Operates across the full 400–550 MHz window without field adjustments.
  • Extreme Power Handling: Capable of sustained 500 Watts of continuous-duty RF transmission.
  • Circular Polarization Technology: Available in RHCP or LHCP to eliminate Faraday rotation and effectively mitigate multipath fading.
  • Precision Steering: Supplied with a specialized mounting arrangement for 360° Azimuth and 90° Elevation tracking.
  • Scalable Array Formation: Can be supplied in DUAL stacked or QUAD stacked configurations for ultra-high gain requirements.
  • Ruggedized Radome: Cylindrical enclosure reduces wind drag and prevents ice accumulation in arctic or high-altitude theaters.

Strategic EW, SIGINT & Monitoring Compatibility

  • Electronic Warfare (EW): Acts as a high-intensity directional jammer for UHF satellite and terrestrial links, utilizing its 500W capacity to saturate target receivers.
  • Signals Intelligence (SIGINT): The clean noise floor and 11 dBic gain allow for the interception of weak, long-range UHF telemetry and command signals.
  • Persistent Monitoring: Provides high angular resolution for the precise triangulation and characterization of rogue UHF emitters in the 400-550 MHz range.

Global & Environmental Compliances

  • MIL-STD-810G Hardening: Fully certified for High/Low Temp, Humidity, Shock, Vibration, Rain, Fungus, and Salt Fog.
  • RoHS & REACH: Constructed with eco-friendly, lead-free components compliant with EU chemical safety registrations.
  • WEEE Directive: Supports high-end lifecycle management with recyclable aluminum and copper components.
  • CE Mark: Certified to meet all European Union safety, health, and environmental protection requirements.

Key Advantages

  • Multipath Immunity: Inherently rejects reflected signals, ensuring a stable link in urban or maritime environments.
  • Unified Ground Station Solution: Broadband features allow one antenna to cover multiple UHF mission profiles (FTS, SATCOM, Command).
  • Industrial Power Density: Capable of persistent, high-power RF projection for mission-critical command links.
  • Zero Field Tuning: Fully factory-tuned architecture for immediate "plug-and-play" tactical deployment.

Key Applications

  • Flight Termination Systems (FTS): Secure, high-reliability command links for aerospace and missile range safety.
  • SATCOM Ground Stations: High-gain Ground-to-Space links for UHF satellite constellations.
  • High-Power UHF Jamming: Electronic Attack (EA) against 400-500 MHz band triggers and tactical radio networks.
  • Telemetry Tracking: Long-range interception and tracking of UHF data links for mobile aerial assets.

Design Features: The AH-475 uses extended stubs to provide the greater gain while maintaining the wider beam-width. This high-gain low-profile antennas use Circular Polarization Antenna Technology - which delivers better penetration through obstruction and interference. This commercial grade antenna provides superior performance as compare to significantly larger and more expensive products. Our AH series helical antennas are smaller than conventional yagi antenna. The AH-475 Helical Antenna is supplied with a specially designed mounting arrangement for steering the antenna in both planes, over 360 Degrees in Azimuth and 90 Degrees in Elevation for terrestrial and satellite links. Elevation tracking can be done if antenna is mounted on horizontal mast/pole. Broadband design feature of antenna makes it highly suitable for FTS application as FTS ground station antenna without having the requirement of multiple antennas.
Constructions: The AH-475, like all our AH series helical antennas, utilizes circular polarization to minimize the effects of multipath interference. Both Right Hand Circular Polarized (RHCP) and Left Hand Circular Polarized (LHCP) helical antenna models are available. The AH-475 Helical Antenna is light weight, broadband and rugged helical antennas, supplied with high strength fiberglass radome to protect the antenna from environment. Cylindrical enclosure is used for low wind loading and for minimal effect of ice formation on the helical antenna operation as well as providing an aesthetically pleasing appearance. The antenna is designed as per MIL-STD-810G standards.
Array Formation: For higher gain requirement, the Helical antenna can be supplied in DUAL stacked or QUAD stacked arrays formation with suitable power splitter/combiner cable harness. Customized color and customized mounting can also be supplied on request.
