The MC3-160 is a professional-grade, center-fed collinear antenna specifically engineered for the 156–162 MHz VHF Marine Band. Design and Survivability

The MC3-160 is built to withstand the most aggressive offshore and coastal environments. It features a high-tech ruggedized fiberglass radome that protects the internal radiating elements from extreme UV radiation, acid rain, and heavy salt spray. Its compact 1.5-meter profile significantly reduces wind loading, allowing it to maintain structural integrity in wind speeds up to 200 Km/Hr. The antenna termination is strategically housed at the bottom of the assembly to ensure the connection remains completely weatherproof.

Design Features : The MC3-160 VHF marine band omni-directional Collinear Antenna is rugged all weather model uses high class brass and aluminum alloy and does not require any field tuning or adjustments. All junctions are fully welded to prevent RF inter-modulation and antenna is completely protected within a high-tech ruggedized ABS radome to ensure survivability in the worst environments. The UV resistant ABS enclosure has excellent transparency for RF signals and enough strength to withstand specified wind loads. The compact size of marine band collinear antenna allows easy handling and shipping.

Constructions: The MC3-160 marine band collinear antenna is a center fed design which eliminates the distortion of the radiation pattern and ensures a true omni-directional horizontal pattern. The special stub matching is used for smooth VSWR and constant gain over the specified frequency band. The collinear antenna consist of large diameter brass radiating elements stacked vertically, fed in phase and enclosed in ABS tube. The antenna termination is enclosed at bottom of the antenna for complete weather protection. The stainless steel mounting hardware is supplied with the antenna.
