The AG3-150 is a professional-grade, 5/8 wavelength ground plane antenna engineered for the 136–174 MHz VHF spectrum. Constructed from high-class chrome-plated brass, this rugged all-weather model is optimized for base station applications requiring high efficiency and wide-area coverage. With a stable 3 dBi gain and specialized inter-modulation suppression, the AG3-150 is a premier choice for tactical, maritime, and public safety VHF networks.

Strategic Construction & Signal Purity

Hardened materials for zero-maintenance operational life. The AG3-150 utilizes an all-brass architecture to prevent the formation of "Signal Cells." This critical design feature eliminates internal inter-modulation, ensuring that the antenna remains electrically "clean" even during high-power broadcasts. The radiator and ground plane are finished with high-class chrome plating, providing an elite layer of protection against corrosive atmospheric gases, salt spray, and UV radiation. All mounting hardware is fabricated from marine-grade stainless steel.

Operational Efficiency

5/8 Wavelength design for enhanced gain and consistent "Null Fill." By utilizing a 5/8 wavelength design, the AG3-150 provides a higher gain profile compared to standard 1/4 wave antennas, while maintaining a wide 70-degree vertical beamwidth. This aperture ensures a consistent signal link for ground-level units and assets at varying elevations. For maximum survivability, the N-Female termination and feed cable are completely enclosed within the mounting pipe, shielding the most vulnerable electrical connections from moisture and mechanical strain.

Detailed Technical Features

  • VHF Band Optimization: Targeted performance for the 136–174 MHz range, ideal for high-band VHF tactical and commercial communications.
  • 5/8 Wavelength Radiator: Provides superior gain and radiation efficiency for enhanced signal reach and clarity.
  • Chrome-Plated Brass Core: Offers exceptional electrical conductivity and maximum environmental resilience in humid or coastal theaters.
  • Inter-Modulation (IM) Suppression: Prevents internal diode effects to maintain a clean RF environment for co-located receivers.
  • Vertical Pattern Precision: A 70° vertical beamwidth maintains stable link integrity for mobile units in rugged or urban terrain.
  • Weather-Shielded Feed: Internalized cable routing through the support pipe provides 100% protection for the N-Female connector.
  • High-Power Capacity: Facilitates up to 250 Watts of continuous RF power for robust broadcasting.
  • Tactical Logistics: Ground radials are removable, simplifying the shipping process and allowing for rapid field assembly.

Environmental Specifications

The AG3-150 is built to survive the world's most demanding mission parameters:

  • Operating Temperature: Certified for mission-critical use from -30°C to +70°C.
  • Storage Resilience: Safe for non-operational storage in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +80°C.
  • Humidity Defense: Fully functional in 0 to 95% Relative Humidity, suitable for tropical and high-salinity theaters.
  • Aerodynamic Wind Rating: Specifically engineered to survive constant winds up to 200 Km/Hr.

Key Advantages, Benefits & Applications

Key Advantages:

  • Signal Fidelity: The brass and chrome construction ensures absolute signal purity at high power levels.
  • Maintenance-Free: Rugged, factory-calibrated design eliminates the need for field tuning or periodic adjustments.
  • Boresight Stability: The 5 mm stainless steel whip and nylon coil housing ensure the antenna maintains its mechanical and electrical center in high winds.

Key Applications:

  • VHF Base Stations: Primary communications link for emergency services, military outposts, and security centers.
  • Maritime Security: Ruggedized construction and chrome plating make it ideal for shipboard mounting and coastal installations.
  • Critical Infrastructure: Reliable 360-degree coverage for refineries, transport hubs, and remote monitoring sites.
  • Tactical Signal Intercept: Serving as a high-sensitivity monitoring probe for VHF regulatory scanning.

Design Features: AG3-150 Ground Plane Antenna is a 5/8 wavelength, rugged, all weather model, uses high class chrome plated Brass and does not require any field tuning. The ground plane antenna when packed comes with ground radials removed from the antenna body for ease of packing and transportation.

Constructions: The all Brass ground plane antenna prevents formation of “Signal Cells”, thereby eliminating inter-modulation with in the antenna. AG3-150 ground plane antenna is specially designed for Omni directional requirements, broadband for base station. Antenna termination and feed cable lie enclosed inside the mounting pipe for complete weather protection.
