The MD-700-2500 is a high-performance Multi-Band Omni-Directional Antenna engineered for seamless wideband coverage from 700 MHz to 2500 MHz. This rugged, all-weather coaxial dipole antenna is designed to provide consistent 360-degree signal distribution, making it an ideal single-antenna solution for transmitting, receiving, and tactical jamming. Built with high-grade brass radiating elements and protected by a UV-resistant ABS enclosure, the MD-700-2500 eliminates the need for multiple antennas on a single platform, ensuring mission-critical reliability for man-pack, vehicular, and fixed-station applications.

Design: Integrated Wideband Performance

The MD-700-2500 is meticulously crafted to cover the entire 700 to 2500 MHz frequency range without the need for field tuning or manual adjustments. By utilizing a sophisticated “Choke and Spark Gap” technique, the antenna maintains a smooth VSWR and a constant 2.5 dBi gain across the spectrum. This innovative design ensures that the antenna performs with high efficiency for various RF tasks, including cellular monitoring, tactical scanning, and electronic countermeasures (ECM), providing a stable link even in high-density signal environments.

Durability: Tactical Grade Construction

Engineered for the most demanding environments, the MD-700-2500 features a compact, low-profile design that is highly resistant to mechanical stress and environmental factors. The internal radiating elements are made of high-class brass, ensuring maximum conductivity and power handling of up to 150 Watts. The entire system is enclosed in a UV-resistant ABS radome that provides excellent RF transparency and is rated for wind speeds up to 200 Km/Hr. Its lightweight (0.80 Kg) and small form factor (300mm length) allow for easy handling and versatile mounting on vertical poles or directly onto man-pack transceivers.

Versatility: Multi-Platform Deployment

Whether used for mobile surveillance or fixed-site communication, the MD-700-2500 excels in versatility. The vertical polarization and omni-directional radiation pattern ensure complete coverage in the horizontal plane, while the 76-degree vertical beamwidth provides excellent signal reach in varied terrain. Supplied with high-quality stainless steel mounting hardware and aluminum support pipes, this antenna is ready for rapid deployment in harsh climates, operating reliably in temperatures ranging from -30°C to +70°C.

Tactical Jamming & Monitoring Guide: 360° Area Denial with the MD-700-2500

In mobile electronic warfare and Signal Intelligence (SIGINT), the ability to maintain a consistent "RF Shield" while on the move is critical. The MD-700-2500 is a wideband omni-directional coaxial dipole designed to provide a continuous hemispherical field of interference or intercept without the "pointing" requirements of directional antennas.

1. Continuous 360° Horizontal Coverage

Unlike directional spiral or Yagi antennas that focus energy in one direction, the MD-700-2500 radiates equally in all directions.

  • The Jamming Advantage: In a convoy protection or man-pack jamming scenario, the threat (such as a remote-controlled IED trigger) can come from any angle. The MD-700-2500 creates a uniform "Jamming Bubble" around the operator. With 150 Watts of power handling, this antenna ensures that the J/S (Jamming-to-Signal) ratio remains high enough to suppress triggers across the entire 700–2500 MHz range, including GSM, 3G, 4G LTE, and 2.4 GHz ISM bands.
  • The Monitoring Advantage: For SIGINT, the omni-directional pattern allows for "blind" scanning. You can intercept signals from a passing vehicle or a nearby building without knowing the exact location of the transmitter.

2. Vertical Polarization & Signal Alignment

Most handheld radios, mobile phones, and drone controllers use vertically polarized antennas (whips).

  • Polarization Matching: The MD-700-2500 is Vertically Polarized, ensuring a perfect match with most tactical threats. If your jamming antenna and the threat's receiving antenna are both vertically aligned, you achieve maximum power transfer. A mismatch (e.g., using a horizontal antenna against a vertical threat) could result in a 20 dB signal loss, potentially leaving a gap in your electronic shield.

3. High-Efficiency Wideband Matching

Wideband antennas often suffer from "gain dipping," where the antenna performs well at one frequency but poorly at another.

  • The Choke & Spark Gap Benefit: The MD-700-2500 uses an internal Choke and Spark Gap technique to stabilize the VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) at 2.0:1 or better. This means that as your jammer hops across frequencies from 700 MHz to 2.5 GHz, the antenna maintains a constant 2.5 dBi gain. This prevents "dead zones" in your jamming profile that an adversary could exploit.

4. Tactical Man-Pack & Vehicular Integration

At only 300mm (approx. 12 inches) in length, the MD-700-2500 is optimized for low-profile tactical use.

  • Man-Pack Deployment: The antenna can be mounted directly to the top of a man-portable jammer. Its rugged ABS enclosure and all-brass internal construction are designed to survive the vibration and physical impact of dismounted operations in brush or urban environments.
  • Ground Plane Independence: Because it is a coaxial dipole, it does not strictly require a large metal ground plane (like a vehicle roof) to function, making it effective even when mounted on composite materials or wooden masts.

Tactical Deployment Checklist

  • Height is Survival: For 700–2500 MHz, signals are mostly Line-of-Sight. Even at the 150W power limit, a jammer's effectiveness is severely reduced if the antenna is buried inside a backpack or behind a vehicle cabin. Mount the antenna as high as possible to clear human or vehicular obstructions.
  • Cable Selection: At 2.5 GHz, standard RG-58 cable has high loss. To ensure the full 150 Watts reaches the radiating elements, use high-quality LMR-240 or LMR-400 coaxial cables.
  • Heat Management: Radiating 150W continuously creates heat. The MD-700-2500's Teflon and Nylon insulators are high-temperature rated, but ensure the base connector (N-Female) is clean and dry to prevent arcing during high-power transmissions.
  • Environmental Sealing: While the ABS enclosure is UV resistant and weather-protected, always ensure the N-Female connection is wrapped with self-amalgamating tape if the antenna is permanently mounted outdoors to prevent moisture ingress over time.

Design Features: MD-700-2500 multi band antenna is rugged all weather model, enclosed in a ABS radome, uses high class aluminum alloy and does not require any field tuning or adjustments. The compact size of omni-directional coaxial dipole antenna allows easy handling, shipping and highly suitable for receiving, transmitting, scanning, monitoring and jamming applications without having the requirement of multiple antennas. This multi band antenna is specially designed to mount the antenna on the roof top hole of the vehicle or can be mounted on the vertical pole with additional mounting hardware.

Construction: : The multi band antenna is consisting of large diameter radiating elements stacked vertically and enclosed in ABS radome. The special “Choke and Spark Gap” technique is used for smooth VSWR and constant 2.5 dBi. gain over the entire 700-2500 MHz. frequency band. The UV resistant ABS enclosure has excellent transparency for RF signals and enough strength to withstand specified wind loads. The stainless steel mounting hardware is supplied with the antenna.
