FXL-780 is a high-performance, 50-ohm corrugated coaxial cable designed specifically for high-power broadcast, cellular base stations, and demanding RF infrastructure. Part of the HELIAX family (originally by Andrew/CommScope), it is known for its smooth-wall aluminum outer conductor, which provides exceptional flexibility and signal integrity compared to standard braided cables.
Key Features
Low Attenuation: The smooth-wall aluminum design minimizes signal loss, making it ideal for high-frequency transmissions over long vertical or horizontal runs.
Exceptional Shielding: The solid corrugated outer conductor provides 100% RF shielding, eliminating signal leakage and protecting against external interference.
High Power Handling: Engineered to manage high average and peak power levels, often used in FM/TV broadcasting and high-capacity cellular sites.
Phase Stability: Offers excellent phase stability over temperature variations, which is critical for antenna arrays and phase-sensitive systems.

Installation Notes
Connectors: FXL-780 requires specialized positive-stop connectors (typically N-type or 7/16 DIN) specifically designed for smooth-wall aluminum cable to ensure a watertight and low-PIM (Passive Intermodulation) connection.
Handling: While flexible for its size, care must be taken not to kink the aluminum outer conductor, as this will permanently damage the electrical performance.
