The SAT-225-400C is a high-performance, military-grade UHF SATCOM Ground-to-Air Circular Polarized Yagi Antenna designed for the 225–400 MHz spectrum. Engineered for mission-critical satellite communication, this ruggedized crossed-element array utilizes Right Hand Circular Polarization (RHCP) to ensure rock-solid link stability with orbital assets. Delivering a potent 10 dBic gain in a compact, weather-hardened form factor, the SAT-225-400C is the definitive choice for tactical ground stations requiring precise directional control and high-power throughput.

Design: Precision SATCOM & Aero Intercept

The SAT-225-400C is optimized for fixed-site and tactical installations where high-gain directional precision is required for long-range communications.

  • Full 225–400 MHz Coverage: Precision-tuned to cover the entire military UHF SATCOM and aeronautical band. It is fully compatible with modern tactical Multi-Band Multi-Mode Receivers (MBMMR) and high-power ground transceivers.
  • 10 dBic RHCP Dominance: Utilizing Right Hand Circular Polarization (RHCP), the antenna eliminates "Faraday Rotation" and polarization fading. This ensures a stable, high-fidelity link with maneuvering aircraft and satellites in low or high earth orbits.
  • Focused Directional Pattern: With a 55° Horizontal and 50° Vertical beamwidth, the SAT-225-400C concentrates RF energy toward the target, significantly increasing the effective communication range while maintaining a 17 dB Front-to-Back ratio.
  • High-Power 250W Capacity: Designed for sustained transmission, the array manages up to 250 Watts of RF power, supporting secure voice, high-speed data links, and satellite-uplink missions.

Construction: Ruggedized & Deployable

Built for 24/7 survivability in the world’s most hostile environmental theaters.

  • Aerospace-Grade Materials: Constructed from architectural 6063T6 ultra-corrosion resistant aluminum alloy. The array is finished with a protective powder coating to withstand UV radiation, salt fog, and acid rain.
  • Balanced for Mobility: At only 4 Kgs and 1.5 meters in length, the antenna is balanced at its center of gravity. This minimizes the load on Azimuth/Elevation rotators, ensuring smooth scanning and tracking.
  • Marine-Grade Hardening: All assembly fasteners and mounting brackets are made of Type 316 stainless steel, preventing oxidation in high-salinity coastal or shipboard environments.
  • Flexible Tactical Mounting: Includes specialized hardware for rotator mounting at a 45-degree angle. For static deployments, an optional crossover mounting plate is available for fixed mast-top installation.
  • Weather-Shielded Termination: Features a robust N-Female connector fixed directly to the dipole for a low-loss, weather-resistant coaxial feed.

Technical Features

  • Unified SATCOM Solution: High-gain performance across the critical 225–400 MHz tactical window.
  • Superior Polarization Purity: A 3 dB axial ratio ensures maximum signal coupling for satellite tracking.
  • 170 Km/Hr Wind Rating: Sturdy mechanical design ensures structural integrity during severe storms.
  • Tactical Portability: Lightweight 4 Kg build allows for rapid setup by a single operator.
  • MIL-SPEC Environmental Tolerance: Operates reliably in extreme temperatures ranging from -30°C to +70°C.

Design Features SCD-225-400 SATCOM coaxial dipole antenna is an omni-directional antenna for vertically polarized waves. SCD-225-400 Omni-directional UHF satcom antenna is rugged all weather model, enclosed in a ABS radome, uses ultra corrosion resistant aluminum alloy and does not require any field tuning or adjustments. The compact size of omni-directional satcom dipole antenna allows easy handling, shipping and highly suitable for SATCOM application without having the requirement of multiple antennas. The satcom dipole antenna features high suppression of skin current which provides the smooth VSWR over the 225-400MHz frequency band. Cylindrical enclosure is used for low wind loading and for minimal effect of ice formation on the antenna operation as well as providing an aesthetically pleasing appearance. Due to sturdy design the satcom antenna is highly suitable for fixed station application, shipboard mounting and mobile application.

Constructions The SCD-225-400 satcom antenna is consisting of round diameter radiating elements stacked vertically and enclosed in ABS radome. The special “Choke and Spark Gap” technique is used for constant superior performance over the entire 225-400 MHz. frequency band. The UV resistant ABS enclosure has excellent transparency for RF signals and enough strength to withstand specified wind loads. The N-Female termination of antenna is fixed at the bottom of the mounting pipe for complete weather protection. The marine grade type 316 stainless steel mounting brackets are supplied with the satcom antenna.
