The UAV control center antenna serves as the vital, high-gain backbone of any unmanned tracking network. To support ground stations, we offer a comprehensive lineup of medium-to-high gain omni-directional, collinear, and directional helical antennas. Our RHCP UAV Anti-Drone Helical antennas are specifically optimized for frequency hopping and spread spectrum telemetry systems operating in the 915-928 MHz range. For manual tracking, our UAH series directional antennas include a specialized two-axis steering system for precise azimuth and elevation adjustments. Alternatively, our compact multi-sector UAV antenna arrays offer quick deployment and reliable intermediate-range coverage for tactical operations.
Tactical Anti-Drone & Counter-UAS Antenna Systems
In the rapidly expanding field of airspace security, our anti-drone ground station antennas deliver unmatched precision. For anti-drone systems and counter-UAS platforms, our directional helical antennas are primarily utilized in axial mode to project high-gain, circularly polarized beams. This capability is ideal for both long-range communication and targeted signal jamming. Because circular polarization maintains exceptional signal integrity regardless of a target drone's changing orientation in the sky, these antennas have become the industry standard for tactical ground control stations (GCS).
Key Characteristics of Directional Anti Drone Antenna:
- Geometry & Parameters: Consists of a thick conductive wire typically copper wound into a helix above a metallic ground plane. Performance is dictated by the number of turns, diameter, and pitch angle. Our anti-drone helical antennas provide gains from 10 dBi to over 16 dBi. Over the specified frequency band.
- Circular Polarization: Our anti drone directional helical antennas naturally produce Right Hand (RHCP) or Left Hand (LHCP) circular polarization. This is vital for C-UAV because it reduces signal loss (polarization mismatch) caused by a drone's banking and rotating movements. Unlike linear antennas, helical antennas emit Right-Hand (RHCP) or Left-Hand (LHCP) waves. This technique is critical because it reduces "polarization mismatch," allowing the antenna to maintain a stable link even as a drone tilts or rolls.
- Wide Bandwidth: MIL-STD anti drone directional helical antennas are inherently broadband, allowing them to cover multiple frequency bands used by various drone models for telemetry and video links. Helical antennas are naturally broadband, covering various frequency ranges like 2.4 GHz, 5.8 GHz, or 915 MHz, which are common drone control and video frequencies.
- High Gain & Directivity: Our military grade counter UAS directional helical antennas offer significantly higher gain (often 11-18 dBi) compared to standard dipoles, enabling long-range interference or detection. Some directional helical antenna available with22dBic gain especially for all GPS bands and higher frequency range.
- Robustness: Antenna Experts counter UAV directional helical antennas 3D structure is durable and can be enclosed in protective radomes (like ABS) to withstand harsh environmental conditions. Marine grade stainless-steel mounting hardware is supplied alingwith the elevation tracking mechanism.
- Axial Mode Operation: Axial mode helical is the primary technique for anti-drone applications. The antenna radiates a highly directional beam along its axis with circular polarization. The most common for C-UAV; radiation is maximum along the antenna's axis, producing a highly directional beam.
- Steering Systems: Many Anti drone directional helical antennas are mounted on two-axis tracking systems (azimuth and elevation) to manually or automatically follow a moving UAV. Anti drone helical antennas are also available with flange mount option suitable for pan-tilt mounting application.
- Ground Plane Integration: A conductive reflector (ground plane) at the base of the anti drone directional helical antennas which is required to achieve high directivity and prevent back-radiation. Ground plane reflector is made of T6063T6 alumunium alloy.
- Beam Shaping: By adjusting the number of turns or using non-linear pitch profiles, our engineers can narrow the beamwidth to focus energy specifically on a target drone, increasing the effective range for both detection and jamming.
- Stacked Arrays: For higher gain, multiple helical antennas can be arranged in Dual or Quad stacked arrays to increase range and power. Our Various anti-UAS antenna can deliver 16-22dBi directional gain depending on the frequency band.
Applications of Directional Counter UAS UAV Antenna:
- Jamming & Signal Disruption: Antenna Experts counter UAS antenna used in ground stations to emit high-power signals that overwhelm the drone's command and control (C2) or GNSS (GPS) frequencies. Used to project high-power interference signals towards a drone's GPS/GNSS or control receiver, forcing it to land or return to home.
- UAV Tracking Systems: Our UAV tracking antenna integrated into automated two-axis steering systems (azimuth and elevation) to track drones in real-time based on their video or telemetry signals. Facilitates long-range telemetry and high-definition video downlink between the pilot and the aircraft
- Anti-Jamming GNSS Reception: Specialized low-side-lobe designs of our drone antenna allow to protect aerial platforms from ground-based jammers, ensuring the C-UAV platform itself maintains its navigation link.
- Satellite Telemetry & Tracking: Used to capture and decode drone flight data for identification and classification purposes. Also used at earth stations to track low-orbit satellites (LEO) or established communication links with high-altitude long-endurance (HALE) drones.
- Direction Finding (DF): When arranged in array formation, our high gain directional helical antennas can help locate a drone's position by measuring the direction of arrival (DoA) of its radio emissions.
Linear Vertical Polarized Anti-Drone Omni Antennas:
- Fiberglass Omni Antennas: Antenna Experts high power, rugged antennas used in stationary or vehicle-mounted jamming systems. They are durable and typically offer gains between 5 dBi and 12 dBi. depending on the frequency band.
- Whip Antennas: Whip type antennas are most common and portable form, often seen on handheld or man-portable jammers. They are simple, lightweight, and provide basic 360-degree coverage.
- Dipole & Collinear Arrays: High gain fiberglass collinear anti drone antenna consists of multiple dipole elements stacked vertically to increase gain while maintaining a 360-degree horizontal radiation pattern.
- Magnetic Mount Antennas: Designed for quick deployment on vehicles (cars, buses, or trucks) without permanent installation.

Circular Polarized Anti-Drone Horizontal Omni Antennas:
- Circular Polarization: Unlike standard dipoles, QHAs use Circular Polarization (available in RHCP or LHCP), which is highly effective at penetrating obstructions and minimizing multi-path interference—critical for disrupting drone GPS receivers. Specialized types like Cloverleaf or Helical (hemi-omni) antennas are used to counter drones that change orientation frequently, as CP helps maintain signal stability and reduces multipath interference.
- Wide Elevation Beamwidth: Our quadrifilar helix antenna antennas provide a hemispherical radiation pattern above the horizon. This allows them to target drones at various altitudes and angles without needing complex tracking or mechanical steering systems.
- Targeted Frequencies: Common QHA models for anti-drone operations cover critical bands such as GPS/GNSS: 1.1 GHz to 1.7 GHz (covering L1, L2, and L5 bands). Control Links: 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz. Broadband: Integrated models like the QHA-1726 cover the 1700–2600 MHz and QHA-4060 cover the 4000-6000MHz range for multi-band scanning and jamming.
- GNSS Jamming: Our QHA anti drone antennas are the "gold standard" for GPS jammers because their circular polarization matches the signals sent by satellites, making them more efficient at "drowning out" legitimate signals.
- 360° Surveillance: MIL-STD QHA anti drone antennas Used in ground stations for constant 360-degree monitoring and data exchange with friendly UAVs or to detect rogue ones regardless of their orientation.
- Command Destruct/Flight Termination: Our quadrifilar helix anti drone antennas specifically designed high-power UHF versions are used to send "kill" or "return to home" commands to drones.
